Choose one
of the three guests featured on the talk show 101 East. Then apply
discourse analysis. State whether you agree or disagree
towards the proposition, premises, and arguments that you have identified.
I have chosen the third speaker
among the three guests; Azeem Farouk; the Political Scientist of University
Sains Malaysia based on the talk show; ‘Al Jazeera 101 East; Malaysian
Affirmative Action’. This is the discourse analysis that state about his
proposition, premises and argument.
Conclusion
The NEP is actually a
good policy and people can’t say that the NEP is not a good policy.
Preposition
The NEP has its own approaches
which benefit everyone, regardless whoever rules it.
Premise 1
NEP was implemented
in 1999 and actually has ended and the spirit of the NEP is still bliss on.
Argument 1 Two prompts of approaches are the deduction poverty and society.
Argument 2 These two strategies will always be relevant; regardless whoever rules
Malaysia or Penang.
Premise 2
The first reduction
of poverty and irrespective ethnicity are means of universal policy.
Argument 1 These two sections are for social justice.
Argument 2 The NEP has to be find tune, or has to be reassessed.
Premise 3
The problem of NEP is
an access of the NEP itself rather than the policy.
Arguments 1 The policies have to be implemented to
benefit everyone across the board.
Argument 2 They would actually reorganize in
order to gain confidence.
What
can I conclude is I am agreed with the entire proposition, premises, and
arguments that I have identified based on the speaker, who is same agreed with
the approaches of NEP itself. People know that the main goals of NEP are to
eradicating the poverty and also accelerating the process of restructuring
Malaysian society to imbalance the economic. In addition, NEP is also eliminating
the identification among the races.
