GANDHI MY FATHER
Do you think Gandhi is responsible for the tragic end of his eldest son, Harilal?

As we know, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who known as Mahatma Gandhi is the preeminent leader of Indian nationalism. He has fought inspired movements for non-violence, independence, and freedom across the world. In my opinion, Gandhi is not responsible for the tragic end of his eldest son, Harilal or also known as Hari. This is because of certain reasons which lead to strength up this statement.

My first point is in this movie; Gandhi My Father shows that along Harilal lives, Gandhi has supported him in a manner way which means he always do the best for his son although at first, he seems controlled his son. He forbids Hari to do any kinds of actions that might make him unsuccessful especially in education and career. Hari has failed three times in matriculation, but in order to start a business, he wants his father’s money, but he failed to do that.

Second is, Hari himself who are the one fully responsible towards his tragic end of his life. This is because, although he has converted his religion to Islam, he is still doesn’t changed himself to better life. He himself has involves in worst cases, like cheating, fraud and drinking, thus made his life worst. He also has involves in cheating others moneys and have made them got into debt in one of unsuccessful company made by some people using his father name. Other than that, he also has made his family suffered; effects of his behaviour, especially towards his family death.

He also too stubborn and selfish, sometime become so misjudge on others perception, especially towards his father. But actually, what have his father do for his goodness’ and for his best future.  Although he tries to stand up on his own feet, but lastly, he failed too and come back to his family again. Overall what can I conclude, Hari is the one who are fully responsible toward his tragic end of his life, not his father; Gandhi.
