Julius Caesar : Vices Committed?
Saturday 10 November 2012 | 0 comments

Based on the documentary ‘Ancient Behaving Badly’, do you think all the vices committed by Julius Caesar were necessary in order to safeguard the superiority of Rome as the greatest civilization in the ancient world?

In my opinion, based on the documentary ‘Ancient Behaving Badly’, I don’t think that all the vices committed by Julius Caesar were necessary in order to safeguard the superiority of Rome as the greatest civilization in the ancient world.

This is because, as his role to lead the future of Rome, so it is unnecessary for him to do such kind of work. People look him as a leader, a victorious dictator, that must be respected by everyone especially his followers. He should shows a pleasant appearance. However, not all respect him. Roman did not respected him as because of his ghastly behavior not only towards men, also towards women and children. His reaction towards women is very bothersome. He just uses his power in order to conquer and dominate the women’s life.  His life is not as fine as he expected until he had been killed by Brutus because did not want him to continue doing the same fault to Roman. He didn't deserve to be a good leader.

BBC Shakespeare’s Animated Series-Julius Caesar
Monday 29 October 2012 | 1 comments

Do you agree that Brutus had a noble motive when murdering his adopted father, Julius Caesar? Discuss.
From what I have watched from the animated series of Julius Caesar, I found that there was a conspiracy on falling down Julius Caesar between Marcus Junius Brutus (Brutus) and Gaius Cassius Longinus (Cassius). Both of them were formers who had been pardoned by Caesar after the battle of Pharsalus. They were responsible and cooperated in murdered Caesar. So, generally, I am not agreeing to say that Brutus had a noble motive when murdering his adopted father.
This is because; Brutus was not as noble as people think. Perhaps he may be a noble man in front of Caesar, but behind him, he was bad man. For example, before he killed Caesar, he said he didn’t like how Caesar was getting all of the credit for everything and that he was wrong for helping the plebians. His saying was fine enough to say that he was not noble man and his motive was for diminishing his adopted father.
In addition, the actual situation and the real motive of why Brutus killed Caesar is Brutus wanted to be loyal to Rome, without a single person ruling.  He was more worried about the city and wanted to kill Caesar, so that there will be no dictator. He believed that Caesar was too ambitious. If he loved Rome and was a polite man, why did he have to kill his own adopted father? Julius Caesar had changed the nature of Roman Empire, and had done many like swept away the old corrupt system and had set an example to future Roman emperors as well as other future European leaders to live up to.

Jack the Ripper in America!
Tuesday 2 October 2012 | 1 comments

There were many suspects in the Jack the Ripper murders over the years. What are the evidence that supports the claim that James Kelly was Jack the Ripper? If you are a rival detective, how do you eliminate all the evidence that you have identified in the documentary?

Since there are many suspects in the Jack the Ripper murders, I don’t agree to say that James Kelly was Jack the Ripper based on the documentary “Jack the Ripper in America” and if I am a rival detective, I have several reason on how to eliminate all the evidence that I have identified in the documentary.

Before that, in the documentary, it stated that there is a retired detective named Ed Norris, who had examined the Jack the Ripper case. He came to the conclusion that James Kelly is not only the real Jack Ripper, nevertheless he also become the suspect of variety cases of murder around the city. In addition, he also adds several points to support his statement. For instance, he had killed his wife by stabbing her in the neck. Then he escaped and the police unable to search him for long time. He also works in a job that requires handiness with a knife.

Based on what I have read about James Kelly, I notice that at the first moment, he is a guy who has a good background since he have finished his studies and find the job. It is true to say that he is insane, however the real of Jack the Ripper is not insane and could able to think properly than him. He is actually unable to think clearly and didn’t plan to do it. People know that the real Jack Ripper is an organized killer, since he managed to look normal enough that nobody couldn’t remember to notice him. But in this case, it is difference from Kelly’s identity.

In the same year he meets his future wife named Sarah Brider, there is something wrong with Kelly’s mental instability until he loses his jobs. They got married but then he found he has a disease and resolves to treat it himself. He accuses Sarah for being a prostitute. He becomes aggressive towards his wife with threaten her using knife. The changes of Kelly’s behavior has made Sarah doesn’t wants to live with him anymore. Until one day, Kelly had killed Sarah. Effects from the case, he seems didn’t quite understand what he had done wrong. Kelly’s behavior exhibited such insanity that it is not hard to believe him as the Ripper. Overall what can I say that he is not the real Jack Ripper since his insanity is not one of reason of becoming one of the series killers at the time.

from HELL !

Distinguish between facts and fictions that are portrayed in the movie or which aspect of the plot that is accurate to the historical fact in the JTR murders and which aspect of the plot that is based on the filmmaker’s own imagination.

The From Hell movie is a crime drama horror mystery that is about the Jack the Ripper. However, based on the movie, I found that there is several aspect of different plot between the historical facts in the Jack the Ripper murders and the movie itself.
The film has differs significantly from the real story of Jack the Ripper. For instance, the real Jack Ripper was never caught and it is also significant theories about the Jack Ripper’s identity. Beside, there is a lot different about the character of Inspector Frederick Abberline by Johnny Depp who is the visionary and sympathetic police. In the movie, it shows him as a young man, with usual insight into the criminal mind with his psychic abilities, while in the historical fact of Jack the Ripper, he is known as a middle aged detective, diligent, and not an opium addict. Also, in the movie, he died because of overdose drug, while in the real story; he is actually died at the age of eighty-six in his house.
Other than that, in the movie, it shows that Abberline has relationship with Mary Kelly. She is a young prostitute or ‘bangtail’. However, in the fact of story, they are not in relationship. This is because in the real story, they knowing each other slightly from drinking at a pub. There is no romance between them and Mary Kelly herself plays no role in investigating the mystery of case.

Believe on Existence of Aliens?
Thursday 13 September 2012 | 1 comments

State several evidence which support the ancient astronaut theory. Discuss whether you agree or disagree to the evidence that you have identified.

Long time ago, people believe that the existence of aliens based on the certain causes that make them feel obvious about it. The documentary of Ancient Aliens the Evidence has story about the existence of aliens. The scientist did their research on proven the existence of aliens and also the UFO since 1000 years ago.
One of the evidence stated in the documentary were many scientist believed that the UFO had landed on earth based on the wooden brown of model bird that people seems to look it as UFO. The model of bird had made the scientist and the astronaut believed that the existence of aliens, although at the time, there was nothing possible to found that thing. The other evidence was they were founded a dozen of figurine that was similar of fighter jet in the jungle in Colombia. And many treasure hunters believed the legendary of gold live there. The weird shape was in triangle and it was looks like a plane. Other than that, another evidence was the pyramids in Egypt. They said that they used the technologies to make the pyramids. However, people know that at that time, there’s no technology used to build the pyramids. Overall, what can I say is all of these evidences are not strong enough to make me believe on the existence of aliens, since the scientist are not proven the real evidences.

Fast Food; Main Cause of Obesity?
Sunday 9 September 2012 | 3 comments

Are you convinced that fast food is the main cause of obesity in United States and around the world?

The word of obesity itself has well enough to shows that it is in a way that is not healthy. People looks the appearance of obesity because of too much eat food everyday and one of it is of cause the fast food. Conversely, I am strongly not agreed that the fast food is the main cause of obesity in United States and around the world.
Perhaps it is true to say that the fast food is cause of obesity, but it is not the main factor of obesity. The cause of obesity can come from the genetic of family, or not using the proper ways of diet. In the video, it states that nearly 100 million American is overweight. The American visit fast food restaurant; Mc Donald’s everyday and it also happening on the global places, either in the fuel station, airport and also shopping mall.
Though, in this case, people have their own demands, whether want to visit the fast food restaurant or not. All the decision is on their hands. By not visit the restaurant habitually, people may not involve in the obesity case. The restaurants just fulfill the market demand for food by providing the fast, cheap, variety, and attracted services. They have their own right on get the consumer’s attention.
In addition, people should put the blame on themselves because they are too addicted to fast food. Based on the video, there is an experiment on eat the fast food of Mc Donald’s. At first, the person is not addicting towards the fast food, but then he become addicted after a few days eating it. In this case, it shows that people themselves want to get involves in obesity case.
In a nutshell, I am strongly not agreed that the fast food is the main cause of obesity in United States and around the world based on the certain reasons which almost is the fault of people themselves.

al Jazeera 101 East; Malaysia Afformative Action

Choose one of the three guests featured on the talk show 101 East. Then apply discourse analysis. State whether you agree or disagree towards the proposition, premises, and arguments that you have identified.

I have chosen the third speaker among the three guests; Azeem Farouk; the Political Scientist of University Sains Malaysia based on the talk show; ‘Al Jazeera 101 East; Malaysian Affirmative Action’. This is the discourse analysis that state about his proposition, premises and argument.

Conclusion
The NEP is actually a good policy and people can’t say that the NEP is not a good policy.

Preposition
The NEP has its own approaches which benefit everyone, regardless whoever rules it.

Premise 1
NEP was implemented in 1999 and actually has ended and the spirit of the NEP is still bliss on.
Argument 1     Two prompts of approaches are the deduction poverty and society.
Argument 2  These two strategies will always be relevant; regardless whoever rules Malaysia or Penang.

Premise 2
The first reduction of poverty and irrespective ethnicity are means of universal policy.
Argument 1     These two sections are for social justice.
Argument 2     The NEP has to be find tune, or has to be reassessed.

Premise 3
The problem of NEP is an access of the NEP itself rather than the policy.
Arguments 1    The policies have to be implemented to benefit everyone across the board.
Argument 2      They would actually reorganize in order to gain confidence.

What can I conclude is I am agreed with the entire proposition, premises, and arguments that I have identified based on the speaker, who is same agreed with the approaches of NEP itself. People know that the main goals of NEP are to eradicating the poverty and also accelerating the process of restructuring Malaysian society to imbalance the economic. In addition, NEP is also eliminating the identification among the races.
